Job description

We have partnered with an engineering and construction company in the Bethlehem, PA area to provide them with a Senior Structural Engineer 3. Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Sr. Structural Engineer:

#1. Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer License.

#2. Must have equipment foundations, equipment towers, building structures, pipe racks and platforms design experience.

#3. Must be able to execute structural calculation, perform site layout, review vendor drawings and write specification analysis reports.

#4. No more than 3 jobs in the last 10 years

Responsibilities of the Sr. Structural Engineer:

  • Structural Engineering
    • Execute structural calculations.
    • Coordinate with other disciplined engineers and designers.
    • Perform site layout.
    • Review vendor drawings.
    • Write structural analysis reports.
  • Construction Documents
    • Coordinate with Structural AutoCAD designers to create facility 3D models and construction drawings.
    • Review drawings and models for accuracy.
    • Create contractor scopes of work.
    • Write specifications (pre-engineered metal buildings, Geotech, etc.)
  • Construction Support
    • Create contractor bid packages.
    • Create bills of material (BOMs).
    • Review shop drawings.
    • Answer RFIs from contractors.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Requirements of the Sr. Structural Engineer:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • 5+ years of experience practicing discipline specific engineering on multidiscipline project teams required.
  • Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer License required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills, to be able to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to self-direct and be responsible for own tasks, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Basic leadership skills and experience leading work groups or task forces in specific projects.
  • Competent user of technology and software required to execute daily tasks.
  • Must have a valid, active drivers license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
