    Position Summary

    Henderson Engineers is seeking a BIM Technician III to support BIM standards, workflows, model quality, automation, content, and technical enablement across our engineering teams. The primary focus of this opportunity is helping project teams work more consistently, efficiently, and confidently in a large, multi-discipline BIM environment.

    This opening is not intended to function as a dedicated production modeling role. However, production modeling, documentation, or other project-related BIM support may be needed occasionally based on project, sector, workload, or business priorities.

    The ideal candidate enjoys solving workflow challenges, supporting designers, improving standards, documenting best practices, and helping scale better BIM processes across teams and project types.

    Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities

    Key Responsibilities

    -Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of BIM standards, workflows, templates, model health practices, and project setup processes.
    -Help project teams apply BIM standards and expectations consistently across models, documentation, and deliverables.
    -Review BIM models for health, integrity, consistency, and alignment with project and organizational standards.
    -Support BIM Execution Plan implementation by helping teams translate project requirements into practical BIM workflows.
    -Create, review, or maintain Revit families, schedules, parameters, and supporting content to meet project and organizational needs.
    -Contribute to documentation, training, and communication of BIM standards, best practices, and workflow expectations.
    -Develop or support scripts, automation tools, QA/QC processes, reports, or repeatable workflows that improve BIM quality, efficiency, and user experience.
    -Support project or sector teams with modeling, documentation, coordination, or production-related BIM tasks when needed.
    -Maintain working knowledge of BIM software applications, tools, and technologies, and recommend improvements that support better project delivery.
    -Participate in coordination, training, company, client, or industry activities as needed.

    Required Education, Experience, Licenses & Technical Competencies

    • High School Diploma or General Education Degree, GED, required.
    • Associate degree in a relevant field of BIM, such as BIM/CAD Technology, and 6 years of relevant, progressive experience, or 8 years of progressive experience without a degree utilizing BIM to produce mechanical and electrical drawings in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, or electrical fields required. A BIM-related certificate earned from an accredited institution may count toward 1 year of experience.
    • Intermediate knowledge, understanding, and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry, codes, design guides, and standards required.
    • Intermediate working knowledge and understanding of BIM technology, interoperability of BIM software platforms, computing technologies, and industry-specific standards.
    • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Dynamo, Imaginit Clarity, and Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360 required.
    • Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD and Navisworks preferred.
    • Advanced proficiency in Recap preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required.
    • Experience supporting BIM standards, model health practices, templates, project setup processes, or workflow documentation in a multi-discipline environment preferred.
    • Experience creating, maintaining, or improving Revit families, schedules, shared parameters, templates, or standardized BIM content preferred.
    • Experience supporting designers or project teams through BIM training, documentation, technical guidance, or workflow support preferred.
    • Understanding of how BIM standards, Revit content, model setup, and workflow decisions impact project delivery, model performance, documentation quality, coordination, and long-term maintainability preferred.
    • Experience developing or supporting automation, Dynamo scripts, QA/QC tools, reporting workflows, or repeatable BIM processes preferred.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with designers at all levels in a clear and concise manner.
    • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
    • Proven ability to take initiative, be proactive, and help others as needed.

    Physical & Other Requirements

    • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Occasional travel may be required (10-15%).
    • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
