Summary:
Electrical Engineers and Electrical Designers are responsible for the design, coordination, documentation, and delivery of electrical building systems for our Mission Critical Data Center practice. Individuals will perform engineering calculations, prepare and review design documents, coordinate with project teams, manage tasks or projects, provide technical leadership, mentor others, and support business development activities. All team members are expected to uphold a client-centric mindset, demonstrate quality and integrity, and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and continuously learning environment.

Responsibilities:
- Prepares design documents under the supervision of experienced engineering and design staff.
- Supports the review of shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Assists with engineering calculations as directed.
- May support business development or pursuit activities under direct supervision.
- Occasionally participates in client, company and/or industry events.
- Fosters a client-centric mindset and approach.
- Partners with experienced engineering and design staff to understand client requirements and scope of work.
- Acts as a liaison to inform engineering and design teams of client and architect questions and relays responses.
- May visit job sites for observation and learning and development opportunities.
- Identifies and seeks to fill gaps in industry and/or discipline knowledge on a continuous basis.
- Acquires knowledge and fundamentals of common industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office products.
Key Qualifications:
- 9+ years of experience in electrical engineering within the MEP and/or construction industry, with a strong emphasis on mission critical and data center projects.
- Proven experience supporting the design and delivery of electrical systems for data centers including power distribution, redundancy strategies, and uptime/reliability considerations.
- Advanced to expert proficiency in electrical engineering design, with deep knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and mission critical best practices (e.g., NEC, redundancy topologies, selective coordination, arc flash).
- Demonstrated ability to lead discipline coordination and manage complex, large-scale data center project scopes, including fast-track schedules and multi-phase builds.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license highly preferred (required for Engineers of Record); FE/EIT certification strongly preferred.
- Industry certifications such as RCDD, NICET, CPD, LEED, or WELL are highly desirable; mission critical/data center-specific credentials are a plus.
- Hands-on experience with data center electrical infrastructure, including UPS systems, generators, paralleling switchgear, PDUs, grounding, and backup power systems.
- Proficiency in engineering and design tools including Revit, Bluebeam Revu, SKM/ETAP (or similar), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of A&E practices specific to mission critical environments, including constructability, commissioning, and coordination with mechanical/cooling systems.
- High technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies, systems, and evolving data center design standards.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills in high-stakes environments where reliability and uptime are essential.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, clearly convey technical concepts, and proactively identify risks.
- Strong sense of accountability, reliability, and commitment to precision, quality, and ethical engineering practices.
- Collaborative mindset with openness to feedback and continuous improvement in fast-paced, high-demand project environments.
