Role Summary
Lead complex design initiatives and set standards for quality and safety. Youโ€™ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, solve challenging problems, and provide technical direction. This role is ideal for subject matter experts who are passionate about innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and shaping the future of engineering through strategic leadership and technical depth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Mastery in working with AutoCAD, ACADE, or Inventor.
  • Expert in the design of substation physical structures, wiring, and controls.
  • Authoritative ability to comprehend and interpret safety codes, utility standards and regulations.
  • Strategic and detail-oriented, with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize complex systems and workflows.
  • Trusted and respected, with deep expertise in fostering collaboration across disciplines and driving innovation within project teams.
  • Forward-thinking communicator with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License is required.
Responsibilities
  • Spearhead the design of high-voltage substations (15 kV to 500 kV) using design software.
  • Champion the application of client standards and applicable design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
  • Oversee and refine drawing development and CAD-based design tasks, applying advanced expertise and driving quality standards.
  • Champion mentorship and professional development across the team, serving as a technical resource and role model.
  • Oversee and refine QA/QC processes, drive continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with industry standards and client expectations.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients, driving innovation and ensuring satisfaction through strategic engagement and collaboration.
  • Strategize and oversee task execution to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget across disciplines.
