Medical Malpractice Defense Associate Attorney (3-5 Years)
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)Salary: $135,000-$165,000 + Comprehensive Benefits

A highly respected regional law firm is seeking a Medical Malpractice Defense Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of civil litigation experience to join its expanding healthcare defense practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney looking to gain significant hands-on litigation experience, receive strong mentorship, and grow within a collaborative and well-established firm.
The ideal candidate will be eager to take ownership of cases while working alongside experienced litigators representing healthcare providers and long-term care facilities in complex defense matters.
Practice Focus

• Medical Malpractice Defense
• Long-Term Care Facility Defense
• Healthcare Litigation
• Civil Defense Litigation

Responsibilities

• Manage medical malpractice and healthcare defense cases through all phases of litigation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy.
• Handle written discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
• Prepare for mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
• Communicate effectively with clients, expert witnesses, opposing counsel, and the courts.
• Work collaboratively with partners while progressively assuming greater responsibility for case management.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Massachusetts or ability to become licensed.
• 3-5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice, healthcare defense, insurance defense, or general civil litigation.
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to independently manage multiple matters in a fast-paced litigation environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
