Job description

Summary

Supervise store operations such as loading and unloading of trailers, processing of textiles, wares processing, quality control, rotation, sales and operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilitiesย 

  1. Assist store manager with managing budgeted sales and expense to revenue (E/R).
  2. Operate cash register accurately and efficiently, proper handling of cash, checks, correct change, receipts, returns, voids, discounts, credit cards, etc.
  3. Performs banking procedures, including reconciliation of Daily Business Statements and deposit slips.
  4. Trains and supervises store employees in retail procedures.
  5. Display and model excellent customer service.
  6. Ensures store is maintained in accordance with company policies on housekeeping, safety and security.
  7. Performs stocking, display, and inventory duties.
  8. Perform merchandise ordering as assigned, to include processing requests to transportation.
  9. Must work a flexible schedule to comply with the needs of the store. ย 
  10. Follows the dress code as set by Goodwill and sets a professional example for employees.
  11. Embrace the empowerment and continuous improvement culture in our agency. ย Display and encourage the ability to offer suggestions and make decisions that will positively impact the store and cause our business to grow. ย

Supervisory Responsibilitiesย 

  • Direct supervision of employees and volunteers in absence of Store Manager or Assistant Manager. ย Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizationโ€™s policies and applicable laws. ย 
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; opening and closing of store; daily manager on duty tasks in the absence of the store manager or assistant manager.ย 

Education Requirementsย 

Minimum of High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Experience Requirements

Knowledge and experience in cash register procedures, stock control, banking procedures, merchandising and display. ย
