Job Title: Integration & Test Software Engineer 2

Location: Linthicum, MD — On-site

Client:American aerospace and defense company

Duration: 12 Month Contract

Pay Rate: $64/hr on w2

Role Overview:

Seeking an Integration & Test Software Engineer 2 to design, develop, integrate, and test software used to manage test equipment and verify space payload systems. The role covers the full software development lifecycle within an Agile/Scrum environment, with a strong focus on Python, C++, TCL, automated testing, and system integration.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Develop, integrate, operate, and maintain integration and test software.

·       Build software to control test equipment and execute automated tests.

·       Perform software and system integration, verification, debugging, and troubleshooting.

·       Participate in Agile/Scrum teams, design reviews, peer reviews, and technical reviews.

·       Analyze logs and test data to identify issues and verify system performance.

·       Ensure software and system requirements are satisfied end-to-end.

·       Collaborate with engineering and system specialists and provide recommendations to technical leads.

·       Support automation of Space System testing and verification using Jenkins and Robot Framework.

Required Qualifications:

·       Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or STEM.

·       8+ years of software development experience with embedded real-time systems, or:

·       6+ years with a Master''s degree, or

·       3+ years with a PhD.

·       Strong Python development experience.

·       Ability to debug own code and understand existing/legacy code.

·       Experience with software integration, debugging, logs, and data analysis.

·       Experience developing in Linux and/or Windows environments.

·       Experience in software testing and system debugging.

·       Experience with software configuration management tools.

·       U.S. Citizenship required.

·       Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI. No clearance required to start.

 

Preferred Qualifications

·       Agile/Scrum experience.

·       C++ development experience.

·       TCL/Tk development experience.

·       Experience controlling test equipment through software, such as:

·       Oscilloscopes

·       Signal generators/analyzers

·       Power supplies

·       Experience integrating RF, digital, or optical systems/equipment.

·       Experience with Jenkins and Robot Framework.

·       Embedded Python optimization experience.

·       Ability to troubleshoot complex integrated applications and test setups.

·       Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.

·       Active TS/SCI clearance preferred.

·       Core Technical Skills

Must-Have:

Python, Embedded Software, Integration & Test, Software Testing/Debugging, Linux/Windows, Configuration Management.

Strong Plus:

C/C++, TCL/Tk, Jenkins, Robot Framework, Embedded Systems Integration, Test Equipment Automation, Python Optimization, RF/Digital/Optical Systems, Atlassian tools.

Ideal Candidate:

An experienced embedded software engineer with strong Python skills who can work hands-on across software development, system integration, test automation, and debugging in a space/aerospace environment.
