    Our Railroad Signal Technician position consists of daily inspections for highway grade crossing signal systems & wayside signaling systems. The area of travel is subject to change, but regardless of the location, the work type will remain the same. All work will consist of following mandatory Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations. Ideal candidates would have experience maintaining, servicing, installing, troubleshooting signal system circuitry and components. Key traits for this position would encompass a positive attitude, ability to travel, mechanical aptitude, organization, self-starting personality.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education: High School Diploma or GED

    Experience: 2-5 years Railroad Signal Maintenance. Successful completion of Hot Box and Signal Apprentice Training Program through Signal Training Solutions or prior experience required.

    Travel: Up to 100%

    Work Schedule: Schedule may vary and can include, but is not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may be required. Ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Works as a member of a cohesive team while demonstrating ability to work without direct supervision.
    • Cleans and maintains job site, tools, and vehicles.
    • Maintains compliance with all FRA, OSHA, Faith Technologies, and customer-specific safety requirements along with immediately identifying, correcting, and/or reporting any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents in a timely manner.
    • Ability to properly perform Monthly, Quarterly, Annual inspections without direct supervision
    • Safely operate heavy equipment such as (mini excavator, skid steer, telehandler) to assist with Grade Crossing System Installations
    • Maintains knowledge to correctly install, program and/or calibrate grade crossing predictors, solid state crossings controllers, relays, resistors, gate mechanisms, lighting circuitry.
    • Familiarity with AREMA Guidelines for Grade Crossing System minimum requirements
    • Displays basic railroad signal troubleshooting skills
    • Verifies basic site information against circuit plans
    • Reads and understands Railroad Timetable document
    • Properly uses Signal Technician testingequipment & required tools
    • Complies with and understands Signalman Hours of Service regulations
    • Actively participates in railroad designated PPE requirements
    • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
