Structural Design Engineer
Location: On-site Wichita, KS | Salary: $95K - $120K + Benefits | Employment Type: Full-Time

Altitude Aerospace delivers engineering and certification solutions for commercial and VIP aircraft programs worldwide. With FAA DER, EASA DOA, and TCCA DAO approvals, we support customers from concept through certification and in-service. THE ROLE
Support business jet manufacturing and modification programs in structural design and production support. Work with production teams to resolve build issues, support MRB dispositions, and contribute to structural solutions for flight test and Special Missions programs. Coordinate with senior engineers, design, manufacturing, and quality teams to maintain schedules and ensure airworthiness.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Design & Problem Solve
  • Support troubleshooting of design and build issues, develop structural solutions under senior engineer guidance, and assist with engineering releases.
  • Support MRB disposition activities with rework instructions that manufacturing teams can execute.
  • Review aircraft drawings and coordinate with design, stress, quality, and manufacturing to support issue resolution.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, special instructions, and installation drawings for production support.
Support & Coordinate
  • Support structural and systems design changes for Flight Test and Special Missions programs.
  • Coordinate with design, stress, certification, and production teams to support program schedules.
  • Provide structural engineering support for production build issues under senior engineer oversight.
Impact: Your work directly supports aircraft airworthiness and production timelines. You'll gain hands-on experience on active business jet programs with firm delivery commitments while developing expertise under senior engineer mentorship.
WHAT YOU BRING
Required
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering degree.
  • 5+ years in structural design and manufacturing support for aerospace programs.
  • Proficient CATIA V5 user with assembly design and production support experience.
  • Experience in Special Missions, aftermarket modifications, or manufacturing support.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft structures, MRB processes, and engineering change management.
  • Effective communicator who works well in team environments and can coordinate across disciplines.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and engineering documentation tools.

PREFERRED
  • CATIA V5 workbench experience across multiple design disciplines
  • Siemens NX and Teamcenter exposure
  • Business jet or commercial aircraft platform experience
  • Composite or metallic structure design background
  • MRB certification or liaison engineering experience
