Job description

A-Line staffing is seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer to perform high-quality adult echocardiography studies in a premiere cardiac center, following ASE and IAC guidelines. This role requires strong clinical judgement, independence, and the ability to recognize and escalate critical findings quickly.


Location: Morristown, NJ (On-site)
Schedule: Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun | 9:00 AM–7:00 PM (approx. 38 hrs/week)
Interview: Yes

Candidates MUST have TAVR TTE experience scanning pre‐TAVR treatment patients with critical aortic stenosis.
This must be clearly reflected on the resume. Candidates without this specific experience will be rejected.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for exams with a focus on comfort, safety, and clear explanation of procedures
  • Perform adult echo studies (inpatient-focused) with strong image acquisition and completeness
  • Review prior reports/images and patient chart before scanning
  • Ensure proper images/measurements are obtained; notify interpreting provider of significant/critical findings
  • Perform and document studies thoroughly; maintain exam logs and required records
  • Support supply/inventory needs and assist with department workflows as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Dedicated inpatient echo experience required (minimum 200 inpatient echo cases, documented by institutional referral)
  • Strong valvular assessment skills, including spectral Doppler and Pedoff proficiency
  • Experience with:
    • Contrast echocardiography
    • Agitated saline (“bubble”) studies
  • Ability to work independently, recognize abnormalities, and act quickly on critical findings
  • TEE and Stress Echo experience
  • Familiarity with 3D echo imaging
  • Experience with structural heart protocols (e.g., TAVR, Mitral Clip, HCM, VAD, closure device protocols)
  • Experience maintaining ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards
  • Familiarity with Philips iE33 / EPIQ systems
  • Familiarity with Epic (hospital EMR)


Education

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program (preferred)


Certifications (Required)

  • ARDMS or CCI (Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)
  • BLS (AHA)
