Job description

Are you someone who is driven to build and test high quality software, acts autonomously, and has experience leading software quality teams in broadscale transformation programs? Are you someone who loves to learn and enjoys solving the most complex problems? Are you ready to take the next leap in your career by leveraging your experience to influence how the future of Workflow capabilities drives business value at Deloitte Global Employer Services (GES)?

If you want your work to matter at global scale, in a stack that's actively modernizing (including AI-led engineering), and on a team that values judgement as much as code - we'd like to meet you.

Work you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on our GlobalAdvantage (GA) platform, you'll own the design and delivery of the workflow and integration capabilities at the center of that transformation.  This is a role for an engineer who's ready to move past executing tasks and into owning outcomes - someone who can navigate ambiguity, make sound technical calls without being told how, and raise the bar for people around them while still learning something new every week.

You'll own the technical delivery of workflow and integration features end to end - from design through deployment and production support - and help set the engineering standard across the platform.  Your impact will be measured by delivery quality, speed of execution, and the business value you unlock.  Day to day, you will:

  • Design and build workflow and task management capabilities that power GES business processes - using Pega, .Net, C# and other technologies.
  • Develop and support REST APIs, microservices, and integration services across internal and client-facing platforms.
  • Own your modules and features - including technical design, effort estimation, unit testing, deployment support, and production issue resolution - and drive quality, maintainability, and reuse across the codebase.
  • Contribute to and shape technical design decisions, code reviews, and engineering standards, exercising judgment on trade-offs rather than deferring them.
  • Elevate the team by mentoring less experienced engineers, sharing context, and improving how the group builds - while staying open to learning from architects, quality engineers, and peers.
  • Collaborate across functions with product managers, architects, technical program managers, engineering managers, quality engineers, and business stakeholders.
  • Improve the platform continuously - performance tuning, application stability, supportability, and delivery practices.

A successful candidate would possess these skills:

  • The ability to operate independently with minimal direction and be trusted with ownership of meaningful work
  • South technical judgement in ambiguous situations - knowing when to decide, when to ask, and how to defend a trade-off
  • A quality-first mindset and genuine attention to detail in what you ship
  • The instinct to lift others up - mentoring, unblocking, and modeling good engineering
  • Clear, effective written and verbal communication with both technical and business audiences
  • The composure to prioritize and deliver across multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
