Job Overview: Pay Range: $59.00hr - $64.00hr Requirement/Must Have: Deep understanding of the z/OS operating system and its components, including JES2/JES3, PARMLIB configuration, and system services. Expertise in JCL for job management and task automation. Familiarity with mainframe hardware components and system-level operations. Experience with TSO/E, ISPF, and other z/OS utilities for system administration. Knowledge of DB2, CICS, IMS, tape management, scheduling, and security systems. 8+ years of experience in system programming. Responsibilities: Install new z/OS operating systems, apply updates, and maintain system security. Customize the OS and related software to meet organizational requirements, including upgrades and configuration of system libraries and automation tools. Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize settings to ensure efficient processing of workloads. Diagnose and resolve system issues promptly to minimize business impact. Debug system software, handle incidents, and coordinate with vendors for technical support. Conduct system health checks, manage backups and recovery processes, apply patches, and provide user support. Ensure that the mainframe environment meets service level agreements, especially in 24/7 operational settings. Participate in technical projects, including installation and testing of new system software.
