    Job description

    Sr Network Architect
    Contract Length: 12 Months
    Location: New York, NY
    Work Setup: Hybrid (3 Days On-site / 2 Days Remote)
    This is a 37.5 hour work week.
    Join a leading organization focused on modernizing critical transportation infrastructure through innovative Operational Technology (OT) solutions. As a Sr Network Architect, you will lead the design, strategy, and modernization of mission-critical OT network environments that support safe, secure, and reliable 24/7 transit operations.
    Sr Network Architect Responsibilities
    • Lead the design, modeling, and long-term planning of OT network infrastructure, including core, distribution, and edge devices.
    • Architect highly available networks supporting CCTV, Public Address (PA), CBTC, Bus Radio, power systems, cybersecurity platforms, and other train and bus operational technologies.
    • Develop resilient, scalable network architectures that ensure continuous 24/7 operations and regulatory compliance.
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to operations teams on OT network initiatives and modernization projects.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate IT and OT environments while maintaining strict network segmentation and security controls.
    • Develop and maintain enterprise network standards, reference architectures, and modeling documentation using enterprise architecture tools such as Abacus.
    • Drive legacy system modernization by designing extensible, resilient solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce long-term costs.
    • Present network strategies, architecture roadmaps, and solution recommendations to leadership while ensuring strong return on investment.
    Sr Network Architect Qualifications
    Required Qualifications
    • Extensive experience designing and supporting Operational Technology (OT) network environments.
    • Advanced expertise in network architecture, design, administration, and optimization of core, distribution, and edge networks.
    • Strong knowledge of network virtualization, wireless networking, and secure network segmentation.
    • Advanced understanding of OT cybersecurity principles, operational continuity, and industry compliance standards.
    • Experience developing enterprise architecture models, network standards, and reference architectures using tools such as Abacus.
    • Proven ability to design highly available, resilient, and scalable network solutions supporting mission-critical 24/7 operations.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business solutions.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience supporting transportation, transit, rail, bus operations, utilities, or other critical infrastructure environments.
    • Experience collaborating with Networking, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Operations, and Procurement teams.
    • Demonstrated success leading strategic planning sessions, architecture reviews, and solution design workshops.
