What to Expect:

The Account Manager serves as the primary field-facing representative within an assigned territory supporting Tier 1 and Tier 2 telecommunications customers across California, Nevada, and Utah.

This is an individual contributor field sales role responsible for executing account strategies, building relationships throughout the customer ecosystem, identifying opportunities for growth, and supporting customer network expansion initiatives. The role is focused on protecting and expanding CommScope's market share within existing accounts through consistent customer engagement and regional field execution.

Primary customers include telecommunications providers such as:

  • AT&T
  • Verizon / Frontier
  • Lumen
  • GFiber
  • Regional telecommunications providers

This role works closely with Key Account Managers (KAMs), serving as the local field resource responsible for customer engagement, project support, market intelligence gathering, and share growth activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Execute account strategies established by Key Account Managers (KAMs) within assigned Tier 1 and Tier 2 telecommunications accounts.
  • Protect and expand CommScope's share position across assigned customers and geographic markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customer engineering, construction, operations, procurement, leadership teams, contractors, and distribution partners.
  • Serve as the primary field-facing representative for customers throughout California, Nevada, and Utah.
  • Identify and communicate regional market trends, customer initiatives, network expansion projects, and competitive activity.
  • Support regional fiber deployments, network expansion projects, and customer network initiatives.
  • Gather customer demand signals and provide market intelligence to internal sales and business teams.
  • Coordinate local customer engagement activities, product demonstrations, field visits, and training sessions.
  • Support product specification, approval, and adoption activities within assigned accounts, leveraging local relationships to identify opportunities and influence customer acceptance of CommScope solutions.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Operations, Product Management, and Engineering teams to support customer requirements and issue resolutions.
  • Facilitate quote requests and ensure timely coordination between customers and internal support teams.
  • Support local trade shows, customer events, and industry engagement activities.
  • Maintain visibility within assigned accounts and proactively identify opportunities to increase product adoption and revenue growth.
  • Manage channel and distribution relationships in alignment with CommScope's go-to-market strategy.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for regional customer concerns, helping resolve issues before escalation to corporate account teams.

  • Identifying and developing opportunities related to fiber deployments, broadband expansion, and regional infrastructure projects.
  • Providing actionable market intelligence and competitive insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting successful customer adoption of CommScope products, services, and solutions.
  • Building trusted relationships throughout the customer ecosystem, including engineering, construction, operations, procurement, contractors, and distribution partners while serving as a visible representative of CommScope within the territory.

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of proven telecommunications, broadband, fiber infrastructure, or telco sales experience.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting and participating in team sales initiatives while assembling and communicating pertinent information for assigned accounts.
  • 2+ years of experience owning customer relationships with outstanding customer-facing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and nurture positive relationships within telecommunications organizations and grow existing revenue streams.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout California, Nevada, and Utah.
  • Ability to work independently in a highly customer-facing field sales environment.

You Will Excite Us If You:

  • Have a completed bachelor’s degree.
  • Have familiarity with CommScope and our product portfolio.
  • Have experience calling on Tier 1 telecommunications providers.
  • Have existing relationships with AT&T, Verizon/Frontier, Lumen, Google Fiber, or similar telecommunications operators.
  • Have experience working with telecommunications engineering, construction, operations, and contractor organizations.
  • Have knowledge of FTTH, fiber optic infrastructure, broadband deployment, and outside plant solutions.
  • Have experience supporting distributors and channel partners.
  • Have strong territory management and field sales experience.

The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company’s Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, two weeks of paid vacation (prorated based on start date), as well as other leave options.

Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. The expected salary range for this position is $112,000 - $168,000, based on hired level and experience.

The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company’s Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, two weeks of paid vacation (prorated based on start date), as well as other leave options.
