We are seeking an experienced Director of Distribution Center (DC) Operations to lead critical components of our North American Supply Chain operations across the U.S. and Canada. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing operational execution and continuous improvements at Circle K's six company owned distribution centers - operated by third party logistics providers (3PLs). The Director will possess core competencies in the management of warehouse operations, outbound transportation operations, product loss mitigation, inventory on hand/working capital, budgetary oversight, and overall 3PL performance. The role will be a mix of steady state activities while also being involved in the evolution of the Circle K Supply Chain through project management, pilot and proof of concept programs, and the validation/deployment of forward-facing tech/solutioning. The Director will guide both the company's existing and future state DC network, present and report to company executive leadership, influence crossfunctional partners, and ensure the successful implementation of projects, processes, and forwardlooking technologies aligned to Circle K's strategic objectives.

What You Will Do

Here are just a few ways that you'll help make journeys better:

  • Developing and leading the performance management and oversight of CK's network of 3PL providers that operate our owned distribution centers
  • Contributing and thought leadership for Circle K's evolving supply chain of the future - the build out of four additional distribution centers in the Southeast. Full life cycle project management
  • Developing and overseeing the operational execution and budgetary adherence across the core functions of warehouse operations and outbound/store delivery transportation operations
  • Developing and owning the annual budget creation and ongoing P+L management across a growing footprint of company owned DCs. OpEx, CapEx, Labor, Warehouse, Transportation, Fleet, Material Handling Equipment, Repair & Maintenance, Product Loss, etc.
  • Developing and building out Circle K's must win KPIs and service level agreements of the future
  • Collaborating with 3PL providers to foster a culture of continuous improvement, commercial value unlock, and overarching cost reductions. I.E. Warehouse slotting, store routing, etc.
  • Collaborating and implementing with the 3PL providers best processes/governance for product loss prevention, shrink reduction, and spoilage mitigation
  • Partnering with Circle K FP&A and our 3PL providers to manage and optimize inventory working capital/days on hand levels and inventory turns
  • Contributing and thought leadership and execution to unlock commercial value; maximizing the existing DC footprint, building out of new distribution centers, commissary/co-packer capabilities, in-sourcing existing functions that are currently outsourced, etc.
  • Identifying enterprise-wide operational gaps and opportunities, and shaping process or policy changes that support business performance and outcomes

What You Need

We want you to join our team! Here's what we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred. Other combinations of career/job-related experience and/or education may be substituted
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics or distribution
  • 7 years managing 3PL providers in a large multi-site environment (outsourced operations/logistics) (or) managing company owned/operated DC operations in a large multi-site environment (or) managing end-to-end supply chain within retail, CPG, food service, or broadline/systems-based distribution
  • A minimum of three years of direct management experience leading direct reports.
  • Must have the ability to manage and prioritize multiple work streams in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills, possess the ability to influence others, and be data driven in everyday decision making
  • Demonstrated skill in analyzing and addressing moderately complex issues
  • An entrepreneurial spirit interested and experienced in overhauling/building out functionalities from scratch
  • Experience with Business Intelligence platforms, data sets, and visualized analytics. Microsoft Power BI and query-based functionality in Excel
  • Ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally with various internal corporate teams, business units and a large base of external 3rd party vendors/suppliers
  • Willing and able to travel (20% - 40%) within North America to Circle K owned distribution centers, commissaries, and co-packers.
