Job description
Set Pay Rate: $18.90 per hour
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Job Summary:
The Lead Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in Child Development Centers. This role provides hospital-grade cleaning services, responds to special cleaning requests, and interacts professionally with staff, children, families, and government personnel.
Essential Functions:
- Clean and disinfect classrooms, restrooms, kitchens, break rooms, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize floors and surfaces
- Clean windows, mirrors, furniture, toys, and child activity equipment
- Restock restroom supplies and remove trash
- Respond to special cleaning requests and emergencies as needed
- Operate floor care equipment and perform routine floor maintenance
- Safely use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Assist with inventory, special event setup, and other custodial duties
- Report maintenance issues and follow all safety, security, and contract requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months of custodial experience preferred, ideally in a child care or healthcare setting
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work independently
- Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
