    Position Description:
    CGI Federal, Inc is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to join an existing AWS Infrastructure Engineering team focused on maintenance of financial management systems and other services in secure AWS Government clouds. Use automation tools and AWS services to both maintain and evolve systems supporting software upgrades and customer roadmaps.
    The candidate will coordinate and collaborate both with their immediate account based engineering team and with other account teams with similar project scope. The candidate will also have the backing of CGI Federal's partnership with AWS Professional Services. This position is located at a client site office location in Washington, DC.

    Your future duties and responsibilities:
    Lead the deployment of AWS EC2 environments through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support Test and Development, Production, and Disaster Recovery efforts. Oversee the distribution of major software or architectural updates to existing environments as required by application teams.
    Design and implement automated deployment of infrastructure within an AWS Environment using advanced tools such as Terraform.
    Manage and troubleshoot Linux instances, converting configurations into IaC, and ensuring optimal environment performance.
    Utilize Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) to streamline application instance deployment, optimizing efficiency and scalability.
    Identify, assess, and remediate security findings and vulnerabilities using AWS Security Hub, Tenable, etc. Maintain a high security posture within AWS accounts through automation and secure resource templates, such as Amazon Machine Images (AMIs), AWS Secrets Manager, and AWS Certificates Manager.
    Develop and configure AWS Security Groups along with IaC environment delivery to narrow access vectors and enhance security.
    Apply advanced network configuration (Load Balancer, AWS Transfer Family - SFTP services, define firewall rules) per application architecture requirements.
    Provision, validate, and track storage allocations per application team requirements (EC2, S3, EFS, etc.), ensuring efficient resource management.
    Implement and maintain comprehensive infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and response systems (CPU, memory, I/O performance, network throughput).
    Collaborate with other support teams to configure required tools for security compliance/monitoring (Splunk, Cloudwatch, CloudTrail, application and server logs).
    Work directly with federal customer's application engineering and operations teams to collaborate on and execute complex tasks.
    Operate independently given objectives and priorities, clearly documenting design and implementation decisions, and reporting status to leadership.
    Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
    Bachelor's degree or master's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or 10+ years of relevant experience in cloud engineering and architecture.
    Deep knowledge of networking concepts such as Ports/Protocols/IP.
    Expertise in AWS Cloud Administration, Terraform Infrastructure as Code, Ansible, Amazon Machine Images (AMI), AWS Secrets Manager, AWS Certificates Manager, EC2 Scripting, Lambda.
    Advanced knowledge of AWS Security and Management Services (CloudTrail, CloudWatch, KMS, IAM).
    Strong understanding of AWS storage concepts related to EBS and S3.
    Proficiency in Git for source code version control.
    Expertise in at least one programming language (C#, Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Ruby, etc.) or shell scripting language (POSIX shell/Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
    Ability to lead development efforts and contribute effectively while working seamlessly via collaboration tools.
    Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new technology, and keep current with industry certifications.
    Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
    AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or higher.
    AWS Cloud Practitioner.

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $62,900.00 $153,300.00.
