Rhode Island Licensed HVAC Mechanical Professional – Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Rhode Island Licensed HVAC Mechanical Professional to join our growing HVAC team as a W-2 employee.

This position is ideal for a licensed HVAC professional who wants to be part of a growing company expanding its residential and commercial HVAC operations into Rhode Island.

The selected candidate will play an important role in supporting our Rhode Island HVAC operations, including licensing compliance, technical oversight, permitting, inspections, and code compliance, while working alongside our installation, service, and management teams.

We are looking for someone dependable, knowledgeable, and interested in building a long-term relationship with a growing HVAC company.

Key Focus

• Serve as a licensed HVAC/Mechanical professional for our Rhode Island operations
• Support company licensing and regulatory compliance in Rhode Island
• Provide technical oversight for HVAC installation and service projects
• Ensure work complies with Rhode Island mechanical codes and regulations
• Assist with permitting and inspections when required
• Support and guide HVAC technicians and installers
• Help maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate supervision and technical oversight of HVAC projects performed in Rhode Island.
• Assist the company in maintaining compliance with Rhode Island HVAC and mechanical licensing requirements.
• Review HVAC installations and service work when necessary.
• Ensure HVAC work meets applicable state and local mechanical codes.
• Assist with permits, inspections, documentation, and code-related questions.
• Review equipment installations, system layouts, and mechanical plans as needed.
• Support residential and commercial HVAC projects.
• Provide technical guidance to HVAC technicians, installers, and apprentices.
• Assist with troubleshooting complex HVAC systems when necessary.
• Work with office staff, project managers, and field technicians to ensure proper project execution.
• Maintain accurate licensing and compliance documentation.
• Communicate professionally with inspectors, customers, contractors, and company management.
• Follow all OSHA, state, and company safety procedures.
• Help maintain company standards for quality, safety, and code compliance.

Qualifications

• Active Rhode Island HVAC/Mechanical License required.
• License must be current and in good standing.
• Strong understanding of Rhode Island mechanical and HVAC codes.
• Minimum 3–5 years of HVAC experience preferred.
• Experience with residential and/or commercial HVAC systems.
• Experience with heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, rooftop units, ductwork, and mechanical systems preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment specifications.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Professional, dependable, and organized.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.
• Ability to work as a W-2 employee of the company.
