The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all short term and long-term repair and maintenance for the Scioto Downs campus. Areas of responsibility include the Track, Paddocks, Parking Areas and Casino buildings.

HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY

  • Preventative Maintenance & Repairs: Conducting regular inspections of facilities and equipment, repairing systems like HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components.
  • Building Maintenance: Fixing, painting, or replacing walls, doors, windows, flooring, and lighting fixtures.
  • Equipment Upkeep: Servicing machinery, tools, and appliances to ensure optimal operation.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and building codes, including, at times, managing pest control or safety, such as for fire systems.
  • Documentation & Coordination: Maintaining maintenance logs, completing work orders, and coordinating with contractors or reporting to supervisors. 
  • Winter Snow Removal:  Using Snow Removal equipment to clean all parking areas around the property of snow.  This responsibility includes operation of snowplow automobiles and side by sides.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
  • Tools Proficiency: Experience using hand tools, power tools, and specialized maintenance equipment.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical or structural issues.
  • Physical Stamina: Capability to lift heavy loads, climb ladders, and stand for long periods.
  • Communication: Ability to follow verbal/written instructions and update stakeholders on repair status

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively
  • Safely work with provided cleaning chemical and equipment
  • Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period
  • Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period
  • Ability to work in a smoking and pet-friendly environment
