Job Description:
Broadcom's Core Switching Group (CSG) is at the forefront of developing highly integrated (SoC) devices for data center and cloud computing markets. Our team is dedicated to designing reference and production boards using cutting-edge technology
We are seeking a highly motivated Hardware Design Engineer with a strong focus on system design to join our dynamic team at Broadcom's CSG. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the entire hardware development cycle, from concept to NPI production, with a specific emphasis on system design, including schematics, PCB layout, signal and power integrity, system bring-up, and customer support.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of complex PCB system designs, from specification through compliance testing, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Drive the implementation of high-speed SERDES channels (100/200Gbps and beyond) and high-density BGA pin layouts, utilizing low-loss PCB materials.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of high-power, low-noise analog power systems and other critical components.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including ASIC, SI, PI, DVT, system operations, Software, AE, and Mechanical/Thermal, to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to ODMs, OEMs, and PCB/PCA suppliers, both domestically and overseas.
  • Utilize advanced tools and techniques for signal integrity and power integrity analysis, ensuring robust performance in challenging environments.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of proven experience as a Hardware Systems Design Engineer, with a focus on system design and development.
  • Expertise in PCB design tools such as DxDesigner/OrCad and Cadence Allegro, with hands-on experience in schematic capture and layout.
  • Strong understanding of power integrity concepts, signal integrity principles, and high-speed board design methodologies.
  • Proficiency in system bring-up, characterization, and debugging of complex embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with interfaces such as PCIe, DDR, USB, SPI, and I2C, and their integration into system-level designs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $192,000.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
