Associate, Treasury (PFS)

Company Description

HPS was established in 2007 as a unit of Highbridge Capital Management, LLC ("HCM"), a subsidiary of JPMorgan Asset Management ("JPMAM"). On March 31, 2016, the senior executives of HPS acquired HPS and its subsidiaries from JPMAM and HCM (the "Transaction".[i] Following the Transaction, JPMAM retained a passive minority investment in HPS, which was subsequently redeemed in April 2022. In June 2018, affiliates of Dyal Capital Partners made a passive minority investment in HPS. In February 2022, an affiliate of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America made a passive minority investment in HPS, which was subsequently increased in August 2024. On July 1, 2025, BlackRock acquired the business and assets of HPS, with 100% of consideration paid in BlackRock equity (the "HPS/BlackRock Transaction").

The HPS/BlackRock Transaction brings together BlackRock's corporate and asset owner relationships with HPS's diversified origination and capital flexibility. BlackRock and HPS have formed a new private financing solutions business unit ("PFS") led by Scott Kapnick, Scot French, and Michael Patterson, creating an integrated franchise with approximately $370 billion in client assets, including $205 billion of private credit assets.[ii] This combined platform, which has more than 590 investment professionals and approximately 1,300 employees globally,[iii] offers broad capabilities across senior and junior credit solutions, asset-based finance, real estate, CLOs and GP-LP solutions. As part of the HPS/BlackRock Transaction, Scott Kapnick, Scot French, and Michael Patterson have joined BlackRock's Global Executive Committee, and Scott Kapnick has been appointed as an observer to the BlackRock Board.

Department Description

The Treasury team sources and negotiates bespoke financing for Illiquid Private Credit investments (aka Single Asset Financing). They are also responsible for mitigating the impact of currency and interest rate volatility on investments, overseeing all currency, interest rate hedging, and ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations. The Treasury team works closely with Investment teams, Deal Execution, Fund Accounting and Fund Finance teams to ensure liquidity management and optimization of resources.

Position Description

HPS is currently seeking to recruit an Associate level candidate to join the Treasury team in New York to support the PFS platform. The role will include operational support for credit trading activity.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

• Reporting to the Head of Treasury and assisting in coordination of activities across the team.

• Support portfolio liquidity reporting for Public Credit Trading Funds involving Prime Brokerage, Loan Facilities and structured financing vehicles.

• Fulfill ISDA and bespoke financing reporting requirements.

• Provide operational support for credit trading activity.

• Assist AML-KYC onboarding and required documentation of new fund launches.

• Resolve trade-related problems such as trade breaks, allocation and settlement issues.

• Liaise with various counterparties on treasury issues impacting the Fund's investment portfolio.

• Support daily position reconciliation, trade settlement and valuation of traded hedge assets.

• Maintain data integrity of internal trade capture, risk, and performance reporting systems.

• Assist in ad-hoc projects (Treasury Management System Onboarding, Exposure Reporting, etc.)

Candidate Profile

• Bachelors degree in Finance or Business related field.

• 3+ years of work experience in credit based financial services.

• Positive attitude with a willingness to work hard and be on a steep learning curve.

• Diligence with a demonstrated problem-solving ability.

• Must be willing to work on, and learn, new software applications.

• Ability to liaise with different infrastructure Teams and Investment professionals.

• Knowledge of VPM, Microsoft PowerBi and Bloomberg preferred.

• Adhere to the highest ethical standards, personally and professionally

• MS Office Suite Proficiency (Excel/PowerPoint,etc.)

In all cases, AUM is inclusive of internal BlackRock allocations. The AUM figures are presented in US dollars

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$105,000.00 - USD$135,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
