Job description

Web-to-Print Press Operator

Do you enjoy working hands-on utilizing some of the best technology in the printing and packaging industry? Does accepting daily challenges and exceeding goals resonate with you? Belmark is currently seeking for:

Web-to-Print Press Operator to be responsible for the operation of the HP Indigo Press Technology utilized in production in the Web-to-Print Division. Must be responsive to customer needs. Overtime and flexible hours will be required. Expected to operate the machine at the highest efficiency possible while following standard operating procedures and work instructions to produce a high quality product.

What will I do in this role?

  • Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.
  • Responsible for complying with and following all standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain quality, productivity and waste according to set standards.
  • Perform all job tasks utilizing required personal protective equipment and correct safety procedures.
  • Web the press.
  • Clean the press.
  • Perform routine press maintenance.
  • Complete the necessary paperwork.
  • Understand and properly utilize HP DFE Software
  • Keep work area and machine organized and clean.
  • Responsible for meeting the 48 hour stated turn around objective.
  • May cross train in other areas of Web-to-Print
  • May operate In Line Die Cutting Equipment.
  • Set up rewind machine.
  • Calculate the number of labels needed per roll or bundle.
  • Rewind labels according to the job instructions. Individual output must at least meet the set minimum operating standards.
  • Inspect for and remove defective labels.
  • Identify product with accurate information.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language.
  • Must have excellent problem solving skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to give, receive and analyze information.
  • Ability to effectively navigate and operate a computer.
  • Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of the position. May be required to work some overtime and on other shifts.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to communicate and answer questions in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Ability to: stand and walk for 80% of work time; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for 20% of work time.
  • Ability to: see clearly at 20 inches or less; see clearly at 20 feet or more; identify and distinguish colors; observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point; judge distances and spatial relationships; and to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
  • Ability to: use hands for 100% of work time; reach above shoulders for 50% of work time; and use feet to operate machines for 30% of work time.
  • Ability to lift: 10 pounds or less 25% of work time; 25 pounds or less 30% of work time; 50 pounds or less 25% of work time; and may lift 100 pounds or less 5% of work time.
  • May lift 100 pounds or more.
  • May be required to use sense of smell.
