Our Austin Equipment Yard has an outstanding opportunity for an Equipment Sales & Rental Manager at our equipment yard located in Southwest Dallas, Texas. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing strategies to grow third party rentals with the assistance of the division's management team. In addition, the Equipment Sales & Rental Manager is responsible for the rebate program with national vendors as well as performing other management functions related to the pricing of services, strategic direction, and organization of the division.
Responsibilities:
- Making the first contact with the project to see what equipment will be needed and estimated durations. In addition, contacts the subcontractors as the Project Manager signs them on.
- Display professional representation of the division, and the company to all customers, both internal and external.
- Maintain accurate equipment projections
- Ensures that the needs of the customer are met
- Review and verification of outside billings
- Assist in the overall accounts receivable and collections process. Hold the sales representative accountable to do the same.
- Conduct weekly sales meetings for planning, exchange of information, and to measure success against sales goals and Ensure that all available leads are being pursued in a complete, organized, efficient, and timely manner.
- Keep management team informed on market events and trends
- Hold quarterly meetings with our National Accounts to ensure that we are taking full advantage of our rebates and handle any disputes.
- Maximize utilization of the equipment fleet and services.
- Engage in internal and external networking events as part of our marketing strategies
- Identify and develop additional opportunities for profit/fee by harvesting existing Austin subcontractor/vendor relationships on existing Austin projects and beyond.
- Ensures compliance with all corporate and division policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and municipal laws related to equipment sales, rentals and related services including all dealing with employment, compensation, health, safety, labor/management relations, etc. Take corrective action where necessary and notify/involve corporate personnel where required or needed.
- Develop subordinates to enhance their current and future contribution to the organization while maintaining a work environment that is conducive to teamwork, shared goals, employee-owner development, and Establish, maintain, and communicate clear responsibilities and expectations.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in construction equipment industry
- Proven experience leading equipment sales and rental operations
- Proven ability to interface directly with customers, project managers, and subcontractors to assess project needs, timelines, and equipment requirements
- Experience managing or forecasting equipment utilization and maintaining accurate projections
- Ability to plan, lead, and facilitate recurring sales or operational meetings and track progress against goals and metrics
- Knowledge of federal, state, and municipal regulations related to equipment sales, rentals, labor, safety, and employment practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the company professionally to internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time effective manner
Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification
- Proficiency in general office software (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.) for reporting and administrative tasks
- HCSS and Heavy Equipment 360 experience
- Valid driver's license
- Requires working outdoors at times in the rain or snow and during cold, warm, and hot temperatures
- Must be able to work on call as needed
