Job description

The Area Vice President Financial Operations, Georgia serves as the senior financial leader for the Georgia Market and a key member of the executive leadership team. This role provides strategic and operational financial oversight, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities while supporting market performance, growth, and long‑term sustainability.

Major Responsibilities
  • Serve as the accountable finance leader for financial operations, including managing performance of clinical assets, academic, research, and corporate assets.
  • Manage, plan and organize financial operations of the Georgia Market, including performance, analytics, reporting, budgeting and capital management.
  • Direct completion and review of financial performance reports, identify opportunities to maximize revenue and control expenses, and drive cost savings with executive leadership.
  • Lead collaboration efforts with Georgia Market leadership, ensuring alignment and maintenance of annual Long Range Financial Plan and budgeting processes.
  • Serve as advisor to Georgia Market leadership on matters affecting financial performance, cultivating relationships with key matrix departments.
  • Collaborate with operations management and corporate revenue cycle departments to optimize revenue and performance and improve payer trends.
  • Standardize work, processes and deliverables, ensuring financial integration within and across the Market and patient care sites.
  • Present financial information to governance boards, subcommittees and executive management.
  • Assure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, establish accounting policies and procedures, and maintain rigorous audit processes.
  • Represent NC/GA Division and Advocate Health CFO(s) in advising Enterprise leadership on revenue growth, expense management and strategic planning.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Comprehensive experience in senior financial management, including P&L management, accounting policy development and audit issue management.
  • Direct CFO or VP‑Finance experience in a hospital or health system with multi‑site, multi‑disciplinary components, including comprehensive service lines preferred.
  • Deep understanding of revenue cycle management and reimbursement systems with measurable success in cost management.
  • Knowledge of financial management practices in integrated health systems and hospitals.
  • Commitment to truth and transparency, leading with authenticity.
  • Ability to respond quickly to organizational constraints in an intense change environment.
  • In‑depth understanding of key business issues and emerging healthcare industry trends.
  • Ability to represent the enterprise with elected officials, agency representatives and the community.
  • Demonstrates capacity to rapidly analyze and synthesize quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize issues and develop pragmatic solutions.
