The Siri Quality Engineering team is seeking a software development engineer in test to support building test frameworks and tools that best enable the qualification of Siri and exceed our customer’s expectations. Join a multi-functional team in charge of understanding how well our products work, advocating for critical changes, and representing how they’ll be experienced by our customers. We are a nimble, fast-paced team that relies heavily on a tight relationship between engineering, program management, and quality engineering. In this role, you will lead all aspects of shipping world-class user experiences, act as the voice of our end-users. As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will help with developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and tools for exercising various features of Siri and continuously look for ways to improve and enhance system reliability and performance. This role requires strong programming fundamentals and automation experience to help in all phases of the product release cycle. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining automation frameworks which involve deep integration and close collaboration with a cross-functional team of Software Development & QA engineers, architects, program managers, and other domain experts.","responsibilities":"Defining, implementing, and continuously evolving automated test frameworks, monitoring CI performance, test result analysis, as well as test triage and reporting.
In this role you should be able to identify gaps in existing test plans and close them with scalability and maintainability in mind.

This position requires a self-motivated and dynamic individual with strong technical and communication skills who can contribute in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Highly organized with strong planning skills to estimate, update, and communicate progress
Experience with or knowledge of Machine Learned (ML) systems and associated qualification approaches
Knowledge of the Apple development ecosystem using Xcode, Xcode Cloud, and XCT est/XCUIT est preferred, but not required
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of proven experience
Strong passion for quality assurance in software, including developing and maintaining automated test libraries and tools
Strong programming and software design skills, preferably in Swift and/or Python
Excellent knowledge of and experience with test methodologies ranging from functional unit tests to non-functional exploratory testing
Experience in building automated UI and non-UI tests for user facing applications or system frameworks
Creative problem solver with a knack for building scalable solutions in a collaborative and cross-functional space
Ability to proactively triage, investigate, and debug difficult technical and UX problems independently as well as collaboratively
BA/BS in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent experience in related field
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses - including tuition.
