Venue Summary
The Dayton Convention Center (DCC) is the region's premier mid-sized event facility conveniently situated right in the heart of downtown Dayton. Located within a 600-mile radius of close to 70% of the nation's population and steps from the vibrant Oregon Entertainment District, the 150,000 sq. ft. DCC offers 77,000 sq. ft of column-free exhibition space and 22 meeting rooms including a 750 seat, full-stage theater. Managed by ASM Global and owned and developed by the Montgomery County Convention Facilities Authority, the DCC is in the process of completing a major renovation to its facility that will serve to reinforce its status as the venue of choice for the region.
Legends/ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Bartender. The Bartender position stocks, prepares, and serves alcoholic drinks to patrons at bars, concession stands and/or beer trailers for catered and non-catered events where alcoholic drinks are served. Bartenders must have a cheerful outlook and knowledge of mixed drinks and proper service etiquette. This position is part-time, and hours are driven by the event schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Report to work at your assigned time in proper uniform
  • Read Banquet Event Order (BEO) and know how to complete bar set-up
  • Set bar(s) in assigned area correctly and uniformly
  • Keep station neat and clean while servicing guests per established policies and procedures
  • Properly account for all bar stock on bar sheets, opening and closing inventory; to include recording waste/spoilage. Monitor, control and restock bar stock in liquor control rooms.
  • Greet and serve guests following guidelines set by the policies/procedures regarding the beverage service.
  • Properly identify patrons' legal drinking age, in accordance with Ohio laws.
  • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in the prescribed measures.
  • Correctly perform cash handling procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Some food service experience is desired
  • Ability to accurately count and handle money
  • Knowledge of basic food preparation and safe food handling practices
  • Knowledge of alcohol service and mixing drinks
  • Able to work and focus in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow directions, adapt to constant change and effectively perform the work
  • Can work well with others in a team environment and work independently
  • Cheerful outlook and neat appearance
  • Must speak and understand English
  • Understanding of basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
WORKING ATTIRE
Professional server attire is required for event days. This consists of a black button-down shirt, black pants (no holes), black socks or stockings and black non-slip shoes. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be worn as requirements dictate.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must possess a valid certificate of completion of Ohio ASK (Alcohol Server Knowledge) program training courses
  • Must pass a background check and credit screening for cash handling purposes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires stooping, lifting, walking, and standing for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift 30lbs.
