ABB is currently seeking a Trade Compliance Manager. This role will ensure that local business(es) in assigned area(s) conduct their activities in line with ABB trade policies and guidelines and implements ABB's Global Trade Program. This role will drive compliance with import/export-related trade regulations at a local level.

This role will be open to remote candidates located within the United States (#LI-Remote).

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop, document, and maintain export control, sanctions, and customs compliance procedures, guidelines, and working instructions. Perform and manage restricted party screening, embargo checks, and classification of goods, software, and technologies using SAP GTS or manual processes.

  • Serve as the primary trade compliance advisor, providing policy guidance and practical support for daily import/export operations. Act as the key trade compliance contact, leading communication platforms, building local capability, and aligning global trade initiatives within the organization.

  • Ensure compliance with global and local trade regulations by monitoring regulatory changes and communicating updates to stakeholders. Provide transactional support for import/export activities, including issue resolution, screening findings, and system block releases.

  • Implement and manage trade compliance training and awareness programs for employees, including role-specific instruction.

  • Oversee trade compliance processes within business operations, including master data, supplier qualification, and documentation/recordkeeping requirements. Conduct trade compliance reviews, self-audits, and transactional checks; identify gaps and drive corrective actions. Maintain compliance with export authorizations and reporting requirements, ensuring accurate classification and adherence to regulatory conditions.

Required Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or international business.

  • 10+ years of strong experience ininternational trade and customs, supporting day-to-day import/export transactions, including documentation and compliance processes.

  • Working knowledge of international trade regulations, including export controls, sanctions, and customs laws.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to guide stakeholders on compliance matters.

  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications for the role:

  • Experience using SAP GTS or similar trade compliance/screening systems.

  • Familiarity with restricted party screening, embargo regulations, and classification of goods/technologies (e.g., HTS/ECCN) including ABB Electrification product lines.

  • Background in developing training programs and delivering compliance education to business teams; Ability to develop and streamline trade compliance procedures, tools, and communication platforms.

  • Ability to think critically and to make clear and well-reasoned decisions from a business perspective.

  • Awareness and sensitivity to other cultures and ability to effectively work with colleagues in other countries and regions; Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-time zone environment.

  • Ability to multitask and work autonomously with strong in collaborating, capable of both teamwork and working independently.

  • Strong integrity and ethics as well as a strong sense of accountability.

  • Broker's License preferred.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $119,000 and $190,400 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
