Job description

The Role 

We're seeking a strategic, business-minded Director, Legal to support our AI & Data 
Analytics (AIDA) function within Yum!'s Digital & Technology organization. Led by Yum!'s 
Chief Data Officer, the AIDA function encompasses the following operating pillars: AI & 
Data Planning and Strategy; AI & Data Product; Advanced Analytics, Business Intelligence 
& Customer/Market Success; Data Engineering, Platforms & Architecture; and AI & 
Machine Learning. You'll partner closely with Yum!'s Chief Data Officer, other senior 
leaders, and data scientists and strategists across AIDA's operating pillars to enable 
innovation, scale AI-powered products, and manage legal and regulatory risk globally. 
This is a high-impact role at the intersection of AI, data, and commercialization-ideal for a 
leader who can translate complex legal issues into practical guidance that drives growth. 
 

Qualifications 

  • JD from an accredited law school; active bar membership in good standing
  • 8+ years of experience in technology, data, or AI-related legal work (law firm and/or 
    in-house) 
  • Strong experience in technology transactions and complex commercial 
    negotiations 
  • Deep familiarity with global privacy and data protection frameworks 
  • Experience supporting SaaS, digital products, or data-driven business models 
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate in a global, matrixed 
    environment

Salary Range: $164,000 - $200,000 + eligible bonus + benefits

Structure, draft, and negotiate complex technology agreements (SaaS, cloud, data 
licensing, AI integrations, and strategic partnerships)
Advise on data rights, usage permissions, and customer protections in AI-enabled 
offerings
Guide third-party AI/vendor engagements and risk allocation and provide legal 
support for internal AI governance processes and committees, helping to shape 
Yum!'s near- and long-term AI governance and safety posture 
Advise on regulatory and risk implications of new AI use cases, including automated 
decision-making, transparency, and bias considerations
Partner cross-functionally with other Yum!, Brand and D&T stakeholders, including 
but not limited to Legal, Finance, Cybersecurity, Compliance, Procurement, and 
Global Privacy
Lead and develop a small team and manage outside counsel, as needed
Contribute to broader D&T Legal strategic initiatives alongside D&T's Chief Legal 
Officer and other senior attorneys
