This role is a tangible product marketing role, not an IT related product role. The position will manage new product introductions, market planning, product life cycle management, and sales programming functions for Wilsonart TFL products. Through thoroughly understanding the marketplace, this position will develop and implement specific product management plans (annual and long term) to maximize returns for this portfolio. The Sr. Product Manager will be accountable for assessing the products and product features needed in the market and the marketing planning for and placement of products launched into the market. Forecasting material demand.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities*** Manages new product introductions, market planning, product life cycle management, and sales programming functions* Develop and implement specific product management plans (annual and long term) to maximize returns from this portfolio* Accountable for accessing the products and product features needed in the market* Marketing planning for and placement of products launched into the market* Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.* Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.* Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.* Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.* Obtains product market share by working with sales director to develop product sales strategies.* Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.* Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.* Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.* Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.* Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.* Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.* Works directly with operations driving efficient use of TFL assets and collaborates with purchasing to ensure certainty of supply.* Maintains product management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*** Strong knowledge of TFL, board/panels , and/or decorative surfaces* Ability to perform competitive analysis and marketing research* Excellent math and finance skills* Knowledge of marketing methodologies* Technical product knowledge* Computer proficiency including the application of spreadsheets and databases* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; at ease with all levels within the company and with customers* Compelling public speaking skills* Ability to develop collaborative relations across departments and levels of the organization* Ability to lead and execute the new product introduction process* Experience leading cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sourcing, supply chain, design, sales, and marketing* Prior experience leading and executing large, complex product management projects* Prior experience partnering with internal and external clients* Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes, including management-prior successful integration with sales team members**Minimum Requirements*** Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field* Minimum 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Sale or Marketing.
