Key Responsibilities

In your role as an LCSW, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive psychotherapy services to patients and their families, guided by a trauma-informed approach that respects the unique experiences of individuals in hospice care. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough clinical assessments to identify patient needs and creating personalized treatment and care plans utilizing evidence-based methodologies.
• Implementing various therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based techniques to support patients facing challenging emotional and psychological experiences.
• Maintaining meticulous clinical documentation in adherence to HIPAA standards and ensuring confidentiality is rigorously upheld across all patient interactions.
• Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and spiritual care advisors, to provide holistic care tailored to individual patient circumstances.
• Participating actively in case consultations and supervision meetings to enhance the efficacy of the therapeutic approaches employed and to foster professional development.
• Offering education and support to both patients and families regarding mental health resources, coping strategies, and end-of-life issues, in order to empower them to navigate their emotional landscapes effectively.
• Staying informed about the latest developments in palliative care and mental health practices, thereby enriching your therapeutic skills and knowledge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will directly support patients who are experiencing terminal illnesses, and your work will primarily involve supporting both the emotional and psychological needs of individuals and their families during this sensitive time. This role requires sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and an understanding of the various beliefs families may hold regarding end-of-life care.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited university, showcasing a solid foundation in clinical practices.
• A valid state license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), demonstrating adherence to professional standards and ethics.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience in mental health settings, preferably within hospice or palliative care.
• Expertise in solution-focused interventions and a strong understanding of therapeutic modalities relevant to end-of-life care.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for effective relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, essential for adapting care strategies based on patient needs.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in hospice, end-of-life care, or work with terminally ill patients is highly regarded and will elevate your candidacy.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual session delivery methods, facilitating effective remote care.
• Prior training in trauma-informed care practices and bereavement counseling.

Compensation and Benefits

The Wellness Support Center values your expertise and commitment to patient care, offering a competitive salary in the range of $80,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
