The paid internship will prepare associates for a career in Walmart Global Tech by working on a meaningful project, networking with industry experts, and developing your skills at the Fortune 1 as you explore our HQ in Northwest Arkansas!  
 
Software Engineer Intern:  
We're looking for Backend, Front end, and Full Stack Software Engineers to join Walmart Global Tech!  
 
As a Software Engineer Intern, you’ll use your software design, analysis and programming skills to create innovative tools and system enhancements to drive change for our customers and members. You will research, conceive, and develop software applications to extend and improve Walmart & Sam’s Club technology used by our 2.1 million associates to help our customers save money and live better. 
Roles & Responsibilities:  
• Work with a team of technologists with experience in JavaScript, React, Node, Java, Spring Boot,  Cosmos DB, Docker, AI/ML and many other technologies to adopt and implement best practices  
• Interact with application teams, architects, and PMs to design and implement new functionality  
• Design, write, and review code that impacts millions of customers/members in a collaborative environment among cross functional teams  
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including the discovery phase to develop and implement long term solutions and impact the end user  
• Work in an agile/scrum environment to deliver high quality software to our customers and members  
• Design new tools to monitor smart alerts, that help discover technical problems in a timely manner while working cross functionally with other engineers to troubleshoot and resolve  
• Augment existing instrumentation to build a cohesive picture that incorporates the  
characteristics of our systems with special attention to points of failure 
Minimum Qualifications 
  • Graduating December 2027- August 2028 
  • Undergrad Enrolled in CS, EE, Math, Stats, or related field 
  • Strong programming skills in Python (experience with Java/Scala a plus) 
  • AI fluency is a key skill requirement
  • Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals 
  • Experience implementing ML models from scratch or using frameworks 
  • Coursework or projects demonstrating applied AI skills 
Office Environment: Corporate U.S. Tech Hub Location: Primary locations will be in Bentonville, AR & Sunnyvale, CA *Location availability is based on job profile and business needs. Desired Majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Development, AI/ML or other relevant majors  Housing and relocation available for those living outside a 50-mile radius of the Walmart Home Office
