Job description

Volt is immediately hiring a Metal Wash for 2nd shift in Garden Grove, CA 92841
As a Metal Wash 2nd shift, you will:
  • Run industrial parts washers, vapor blasters, degreasers, and abrasive blast cabinets using various cleaning media and chemical solutions.
  • Monitor solution levels, temperatures, and concentrations in cleaning tanks (e.g., using acids or caustic soda) to maintain effectiveness, drawing samples for analysis as needed.
  • Load and unload parts from machines and processing tanks, using material handling systems like hoists or cranes when necessary. This also includes masking surfaces prior to treatment.
  • Conduct visual inspections and quality checks to ensure parts meet aerospace specifications (e.g., "water break free" tests for cleanliness).
  • Record gauge readings, processing times, and materials used in production logs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, handle and dispose of hazardous materials correctly, and maintain a clean and safe work area.

This is a 6+ Months contract opportunity.
Required skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to verbally communicate effectively.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to read & interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to read & interpret router instructions & specifications.
  • Properly use calipers, micrometers, and other gauge measuring tools.

Education:
High school diploma or GED, and certificate from a technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
