About the Organization

At Unity Care Services, we specialize in providing trauma-informed care, aiming to create a safe and nurturing environment for those who have experienced adversity. Our mission is to facilitate easier access to mental health services, ensuring a supportive experience for both clients and our team members. We pride ourselves on our culturally sensitive approach that respects the unique backgrounds of our patients, allowing us to deliver customized, effective counseling solutions.

Work Environment

This role is fully remote, allowing for a flexible work-life balance while making a significant impact in the school environment. You will work closely with educators and administrators to support youth and families, fostering an inclusive and productive atmosphere. We believe that a supportive remote setting enhances the ability of our social workers to deliver high-quality care efficiently, maintaining a balance between professional and personal commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that encompass psychosocial evaluations, diagnostic interviews, and risk assessments to formulate an understanding of each student’s unique needs.
  • Collaborate with students and their families to develop individualized treatment plans that target specific challenges, strengths, and cultural elements.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), in settings that may include individual, family, or group interactions.
  • Help students in crisis by delivering immediate support and coordinating care with educators and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective interventions and continuous care.
  • Maintain thorough and precise clinical documentation such as progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in alignment with all regulatory and organizational guidelines.
  • Deliver psychoeducation to clients and families, equipping them with essential knowledge and skills to manage their mental health effectively.
  • Engage in collaborative practice with a multidisciplinary team, including educators, psychologists, and case management professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for our clients.
  • Regularly evaluate treatment outcomes through assessments to determine the effectiveness of interventions and make necessary plan adjustments.
  • Stay abreast of new research, methodologies, and best practices in mental health to integrate the latest techniques and knowledge into your practice.
  • Adhere strictly to ethical guidelines, safeguarding the confidentiality of all patient information.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work as an LCSW will involve supporting students, children, and families within the school system. This population often presents with a variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment issues, which require tailored therapeutic approaches. You will play a critical role in helping these individuals navigate their emotional and psychological challenges while empowering them to thrive academically and socially.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
  • An active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is necessary to practice in Florida.
  • Proficient in working independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential, enabling you to build strong relationships with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with school-aged children and adolescents, particularly in educational settings.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and best practices in mental health interventions.
