  • Minimum of 3 months of machine or packer operator experience and minimum of 6 months of continuous work in the last 3 years.        

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY: Food Production - Machine Opr - Full Time - Kansas City, KS

This facility is a highly automated meat processing/packaging facility located in Kansas City, KS. This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product through the production process and ensuring proper ingredients/supplies are being used on the line. It is also responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying the supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. 

Applicants will be considered for an opening on either Raw or RTE production areas.

Raw Machine Operator

Combining various meat and raw ingredients to formulate stuff and deliver the product to logs to the cooking system.  Operator Care-Basic lubrication, inspection adjustments, repairs, cleaning (CLAIRLEAN Manufacturing), sanitation, and contribute to a continuous improvement environment by participating in activities to include line side problem-solving. Contribute to a safe and organized work environment by maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.  Operate forklifts and both identify and act upon system-based error messages.  Resolve jams and equipment malfunctions. Open and close work orders in the MES system and monitor, interpret, and resolve system alerts.   

RTE Machine Operator

Monitor the robotic pocket fill and supply the line with film. Monitors the peeler, cook/chill system, and unload monitor. To maintain throughput, yield, quality, food safety, and personal safety ensuring the supply of customer orders. Operate the film lift mobbing 500lb film rolls. Identify a variety of potential product defects in a short period of time. Safely and efficiently resolve jam-ups and equipment malfunctions Identify material quality defects and take appropriate action (i.e. film) and operate scales. Weigh drafts of meat using bench-top scales for speed and weight accuracy and operate handheld digital scanners. 

FOR ALL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation)

  • Must be willing and able to be exposed to a cold/damp work environment with temperatures ranging from 28-42 degrees.  
  • Must be willing and able to lift, push, or carry up to 50 lbs. 
  • Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment and requires repetitive motions. 
  • Must be willing and able to stand, bend, reach overhead, and twist for long periods.  
  • Must be willing and able to stand 8-12 hours a day on a hard floor.
