About the Role:

The Executive Chef at Aimee's Bistro plays a critical role in overseeing the culinary operations to ensure the delivery of nutritious, safe, and high-quality meals. This position requires a supervisor background that aligns with health regulations and nutritional guidelines. The Executive Chef leads and mentors kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment that prioritizes food safety and hygiene standards. They are responsible for managing food costs, inventory, and supplier relationships to maintain budgetary goals without compromising quality. Ultimately, the Executive Chef contributes to the overall well-being and satisfaction of those served by creating meals that support outcomes and enhance the dining experience within our Independent Living community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a senior culinary leadership role, preferably within a healthcare or institutional food service environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation regulations, and dietary requirements specific to healthcare settings.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to train and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Excellent organizational and budgeting skills to manage food costs and kitchen operations effectively.
  • Certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe) and culinary arts or equivalent professional culinary training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, Nutrition, or Food Service Management.
  • Experience working closely with clinical nutrition teams or dietitians in menu development.
  • Familiarity with specialized diets such as renal, diabetic, or allergen-free meal preparation.
  • Knowledge of sustainable food sourcing and waste reduction practices.
  • Advanced certifications such as Certified Executive Chef (CEC) or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional requirements and preferences of residents, adhering to regulations and dietary guidelines.
