Job description

Lead the Growth and Transformation of Cancer Care in Central Ohio 

Mount Carmel Health System, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking an experienced and visionary Medical Director of Medical Oncology to lead the continued growth and development of our expanding oncology service line.

This is a unique opportunity for a physician leader who is passionate about advancing community-based cancer care, developing high-performing multidisciplinary teams, and helping shape the future of oncology services across a rapidly growing health system.

As Medical Director, you will play a pivotal role in defining clinical strategy, supporting physician recruitment and retention, enhancing quality and program development, and ensuring exceptional patient-centered cancer care throughout Mount Carmels oncology network. 

Leadership Impact 

  • Provide physician leadership for the Medical Oncology program across Mount Carmel Health System.
  • Partner with operational and clinical leaders to execute a bold oncology vision.
  • Expand access to high-quality cancer care throughout Central Ohio.
  • Support physician recruitment, mentorship, and retention initiatives.
  • Foster seamless collaboration across multidisciplinary oncology teams.
  • Champion quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives.
  • Guide clinical program development and growth strategies.
  • Drive program growth, innovation and service line development.
  • Support accreditation standards and evidence-based care delivery. 

Clinical Practice 

  • Maintain a rewarding outpatient-focused clinical practice supported by a robust, integrated care model, including:
  • Established referral network
  • Advanced practice provider support
  • Nurse navigation, genetic counseling, and social work
  • Financial navigation and survivorship programming
  • Palliative care and multidisciplinary tumor boards
  • Integrated radiation oncology and advanced imaging/infusion services

Qualifications 

  • MD or DO - Board Certification in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology
  • Eligible for Ohio licensure
  • Minimum of five years of oncology practice experience preferred
  • Prior leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive growth
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
