WHAT WE'RE SEEKING

Are you someone who thrives behind the scenes, keeps things stocked and clean before anyone has to ask, and loves being part of a high-energy bar team? Do you move fast, stay organized, and take pride in being the reason the bar never runs out of what it needs? Can you support a full bartending team during peak service without skipping a beat?


We're looking for a Bar Back who brings hustle, attention to detail, and genuine care for the guest experience to every shift. You'll keep the bar running at full speed by ensuring it's always stocked, clean, and ready - and you'll do it with a smile. If you love working in a fast bar environment and you take pride in the work that makes great service possible, this is your role.


THE ROLE

The Bar Back is the engine behind the bar. You'll support the bartending team by keeping the bar stocked, clean, and fully operational throughout every shift. This role requires speed, organization, and a genuine commitment to helping the team deliver best-in-class service - because when the bar runs well, every guest experience is better.


This role requires a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with availability to work during peak periods, special events, and high-volume seasons.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

Stock and Maintain the Bar

Keep all bar stations, refrigerators, cupboards, and storage areas stocked with glassware, utensils, garnishes, and supplies to designated par levels

Monitor bar inventory throughout the shift and restock proactively before levels get low

Move bar supplies from storage to the work area efficiently and safely, by hand or using hand trucks

Maintain cleanliness and organization across all bar areas and common spaces throughout the shift


Support the Bar Team

Assist bartenders in caring for guests in whatever way is needed - speed and flexibility are the job

Topgolf | Bar Back Job Description

Observe all responsible alcohol service guidelines to protect guests and the community

Greet guests you encounter in a friendly and approachable way, contributing to the overall guest experience

Communicate clearly with bartenders and management to flag supply shortages, cleanliness issues, or anything that could slow the bar down


Keep the Bar Safe and Guest-Ready

Clean and sanitize bar surfaces, tools, glassware, and equipment consistently throughout the shift

Ensure the bar area always meets Topgolf's standards for cleanliness, safety, and presentation

Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to management promptly

Demonstrate Topgolf's Core Values in every interaction: Fun, One Team, Excellence, Courage, and Caring

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality environment preferred

Ability to obtain required alcohol service licenses and certifications for your location

High school diploma or equivalent

Must be 18 years of age or older as required by state or local law


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Let's be real - this isn't your typical desk job! Here's what you'll need to do to thrive in this role:

Ability to remain on your feet and in motion for extended periods throughout the shift, including standing, walking, and moving quickly between the bar, storage areas, and service stations; this role requires sustained physical stamina and pace throughout the duration of each shift

Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds independently and up to 75 pounds with assistance, including kegs, cases of product, glassware, and bar supplies across multiple areas of the venue

Ability to navigate stairs, ramps, and multi-level storage and service areas when transporting bar supplies and equipment

Ability to work in varying temperature environments on a frequent basis, including bar service areas, walk-in coolers, and refrigerated storage

Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions including carrying, stacking, lifting, and restocking glassware, bottles, and bar supplies throughout the shift

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a high-energy bar environment that may include moderate to high levels of background noise

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume bar environment while maintaining focus, organization, and stock levels under pressure
