Job description

Tinker Federal Credit Union's Real Estate Lending department has an immediate opening for a Real Estate Closer I or II! As Real Estate Closer I or II, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Managing a personal pipeline of short term real estate loans from scheduling through funding, ensuring loans progress efficiently and accurately to meet organizational time to close expectations while delivering high quality service to members and settlement partners.
  • Preparing closing documents, coordinates closings, disburses funds, and completes required post-closing review to ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Level I incumbents primarily focus on routine service delivery involving less complex transactions and relationships.
  • Level II incumbents oversee higher risk and more complex loan products and independently manage the closing process from final underwriting approval through post-closing audit.

Salary Range:
This is a non-exempt position. For Level I, the starting hourly rate is $22.20 per hour. For Level II, the starting hourly rate is $27.35 per hour; however, actual placement within the range will be determined individually based on your experience relative to organizational needs and internal salary equity.
Schedule:
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday-Friday
Education/Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent for all levels is required.
Level I: Requires two years of experience within any combination related to the following mortgage areas:
  1. Accounts
  2. Closing
  3. Portfolio Management
  4. Processing
  5. Sales
  6. Servicing
  7. Underwriting

Level II: Requires four years of experience as a mortgage closer.
Applicable financial institution and/or military experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two years of experience for one year of education.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • SAFE (Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing) Act registration required.
  • TFCU University certification required.
  • Incumbent Bonding REQUIRED by TFCU's chosen authority.

Keys to success:
In order to be successful as a Real Estate Closer I or II, you must possess these qualifications:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the knowledge of the following:
    • Real estate practices and applicable real estate laws.
    • Mortgage terminology and the mortgage application and closing process.
    • Closing/Post closing activities required for various secondary market investors, including FNMA/Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and VA.
    • TFCU lending policies and procedures, loan underwriting guidelines, and applicable lending regulations, including the Truth in Lending Act (Regulation Z), the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Regulation B), and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (Regulation C).
    • TFCU teller, accounting, and lending functions.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and effective decision making.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and explain mortgage processes to members.
