Job Description: NOC Engineer Position: NOC Engineer (Network Operations Center Engineer) Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled NOC Engineer responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network and IT infrastructure. The role involves 24/7 monitoring of network devices, identifying incidents, performing first-level troubleshooting, coordinating with internal teams and service providers, and ensuring high availability of services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor network infrastructure, servers, applications, and telecom services using NMS and monitoring tools.

  • Perform real-time incident detection, alert analysis, and troubleshooting.

  • Handle network issues related to routers, switches, firewalls, links, and connectivity.

  • Perform first-level troubleshooting for LAN, WAN, VPN, VoIP, and internet connectivity issues.

  • Escalate critical incidents to L2/L3 support teams as per defined procedures.

  • Monitor bandwidth utilization, latency, packet loss, and network performance metrics.

  • Perform device health checks and ensure availability of network services.

  • Create and manage incident tickets using ticketing tools.

  • Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and internal teams for issue resolution.

  • Follow incident, problem, and change management processes.

  • Maintain daily operational reports, incident reports, and network documentation.

  • Perform configuration checks, backups, and basic network changes as required.

  • Support scheduled maintenance activities and network upgrades.

  • Ensure compliance with SLA requirements and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.

  • Experience in a NOC, network support, telecom, or IT operations environment.

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts:

    • TCP/IP

    • OSI Model

    • IP addressing and subnetting

    • VLANs

    • Routing and switching

    • DNS and DHCP

    • VPN concepts

  • Basic knowledge of network devices:

    • Routers

    • Switches

    • Firewalls

    • Wireless controllers

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as:

    • SolarWinds

    • PRTG

    • Nagios

    • Zabbix

    • Grafana

    • Splunk

  • Basic troubleshooting skills using tools like ping, traceroute, nslookup, and Wireshark.

  • Knowledge of ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms.

Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or MikroTik devices.

  • Understanding of VoIP/SIP and telecom operations.

  • Basic Linux administration skills.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus.

  • ITIL process knowledge is preferred.

Certifications (Preferred)
  • Cisco CCNA

  • CompTIA Network+

  • ITIL Foundation

  • Vendor-specific networking certifications

Soft Skills
  • Strong monitoring and troubleshooting ability.

  • Good communication and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work in rotational shifts and handle critical incidents.
