Our mission goes beyond infrastructure. Every team member plays a role in protecting the systems that enable businesses, governments, and communities to operate. We believe in operational excellence, accountability, and a culture driven by purpose.

The Role

Join Switch's professional, in-house Security team protecting one of the most advanced data center environments in the world.

This is a full-time corporate security position—not contract security. You'll work in a highly controlled, mission-critical environment where your professionalism, situational awareness, and sound judgment help protect people, property, and the digital infrastructure that powers businesses around the globe.

Success in this role requires balancing strong security practices with exceptional customer service. You'll regularly interact with employees, customers, vendors, and visitors while maintaining a secure, professional, and welcoming environment.

This position is classified as safety-sensitive due to its responsibility for protecting people, property, and essential operations.

Why This Role
  • Corporate Security, Not Contract Security – Join an in-house security team dedicated to protecting one of the world's most advanced data center environments.

  • Mission-Critical Environment – Help protect the infrastructure that powers AI, cloud computing, and global technology.

  • Technology-Driven Security – Work with advanced surveillance, access control, and physical security technologies.

  • Career Growth – Build your career with opportunities to advance into leadership, investigations, emergency management, and technical security roles.

  • Professional Development – Receive ongoing training, certifications, and experience in critical infrastructure security.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct proactive patrols throughout a high-security, mission-critical environment to detect and deter potential threats

  • Monitor surveillance cameras, access control systems, and security alarms while identifying and responding to unusual activity

  • Control and verify access to secure areas in accordance with established security procedures

  • Provide professional customer service while assisting employees, customers, vendors, and visitors

  • Respond to security and safety incidents, assess risk, and coordinate with internal teams and emergency responders

  • Maintain accurate incident reports, logs, and documentation

  • Provide secure escorts throughout controlled areas as needed

  • Support site operations during emergencies, alarms, or elevated security situations

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, customers, and public safety personnel

  • Uphold all company policies, security procedures, and applicable laws

What We're Looking For
  • Calm, professional presence in a high-responsibility environment

  • Strong situational awareness and sound judgment under pressure

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to follow established procedures while adapting to changing situations

  • Strong written documentation and report writing skills

  • Personal accountability, integrity, and professionalism

  • Reliable attendance and commitment to teamwork

Ideal Backgrounds

We strongly encourage candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Military (all branches, including security forces, military police, infantry, leadership, or other operational roles)

  • Law enforcement (active, reserve, or retired)

  • Corrections or detention operations

  • Fire or EMS

  • Corporate or in-house security

  • Critical infrastructure, utilities, or industrial security

  • Data centers, manufacturing, logistics, transportation, healthcare, or campus security

  • Security supervisors, team leads, or other operational leadership positions

What You'll Bring

Required

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience in military, law enforcement, security, public safety, or a related operational field

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the past five years

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

  • Basic computer skills, including report writing, email, and standard business software

Preferred

  • Experience working in controlled or high-security environments

  • Experience with surveillance, access control, or incident management systems

  • Leadership or supervisory experience

  • Experience providing exceptional customer service in a security or public-facing environment

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment requirements, including a background check, consistent with applicable laws

  • This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a pre-employment drug screening, including marijuana, as permitted by law

  • Must meet all legal requirements for possession and use of assigned equipment, including firearms or less-lethal tools where applicable

  • Ability to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations

Working Conditions and Essential Functions
  • On-site work across multiple facilities

  • Extended periods of standing, walking, and patrolling

  • Ability to respond quickly to alarms or emergency situations

  • Ability to lift and move up to approximately 70 pounds as needed

  • Willingness to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating schedules as business needs require

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
