Human Resources Associate - Part-Time

Department: Human Resources
Reports To: Director of Human Resources
Status: Part-Time
Hours: Approximately 20-25 hours per week
Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour

Position Summary

The Part-Time Human Resources Associate provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department. This position assists with day-to-day HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, payroll support, compliance, and employee inquiries.

The ideal candidate is organized, professional, detail-oriented, able to maintain confidentiality, and interested in developing broad knowledge and experience within Human Resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with recruitment activities, including posting positions, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Assist with new-hire onboarding and ensure required employment documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Maintain accurate employee information and personnel records within the HRIS and employee files.
  • Process routine employee changes and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, terminations, and employee benefit inquiries.
  • Assist with reviewing and reconciling benefit invoices.
  • Provide administrative support for workers' compensation and unemployment claims.
  • Assist with processing and maintaining documentation related to employee garnishments.
  • Provide general payroll administrative support as assigned.
  • Respond to routine employee questions and direct more complex matters to the appropriate HR staff member.
  • Assist with tracking required employment documents, certifications, evaluations, and other compliance-related information.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and other HR documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, payroll, benefit, and organizational information.
  • Assist with HR projects, audits, employee communications, and departmental initiatives.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • College coursework or a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous administrative, customer service, or Human Resources experience preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Ability and willingness to learn HR information systems and other workplace technology.

The HR Associate is expected to maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee records, compensation, benefits, medical information, personnel matters, and other confidential organizational information.
