About You
You are responsible for repairing, maintaining, and installing a variety of electromechanical machinery, including mechanical equipment and control systems. You work under the direction of the Unit Manager to diagnose and resolve complex or unusual equipment issues. In this role, you also support plant maintenance initiatives, perform and coordinate preventive maintenance activities, and contribute to special maintenance-related projects as needed. Additionally, you assist with the work supervision and guidance of Maintenance Technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs complex tasks required to maintain equipment functionality and minimize downtime.
  • Uses advanced knowledge of PLC/CNC/HMI and motion control and robot software to troubleshoot equipment and make repairs.
  • Uses advanced knowledge of PLC to perform programming functions as required.
  • Examines machine components to detect imperfections.
  • Inspects questionable components to determine changes in dimensional requirements as shown on drawings, blueprints and/or documentation.
  • Adjusts and/or install special functional parts of machines, devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Sets up and programs and troubleshoots advanced control systems.
  • Acts in a supervisory role with lower level technicians, setting priorities and providing training.
  • Assists Unit Manager in the drawing of control system and mechanical schematics, as well as part identification and ordering.
  • Completes work in compliance with ISO 14001 and 9000, forklift training, and other safety training courses as prescribed.
  • Suggests and implements equipment improvements to increase operational efficiency.
  • Must be available for emergency service during off hours.
  • Maintains appropriate level of technical and professional skills by attending training classes, seminars, exhibits, and trade shows as needed.
  • Assumes additional related responsibilities as needed.
Specifications
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years related experience. Completion of certified apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic maintenance and equipment integration.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic blueprints, drawings and documentation.
  • Advanced training in PLC/CNC/HMI and motion control and robots, able to program in S7 Graph, LAD and CSF.
