Job description

Title: Machine Operator (Injection Mold)
Location: St. Louis, MO
Shifts: 12hr. Days and 12hr. Nights
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Pay: $23-$26/hr.
Bonus: Competitive hourly pay + $1,500 Sign-On Bonus ($500 at 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year)

Sterling Engineering is searching for a Machine Operator for a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative packaging solutions, serving a wide range of industries. This role supports daily production operations while ensuring safety, quality, and food compliance standards are consistently met.

Job Duties:
  • Operate and monitor assigned production lines to meet daily production and quality standards
  • Communicate with prior shift operators regarding equipment performance and issues
  • Adjust machinery, perform preventative maintenance, and document equipment changes
  • Conduct quality checks on containers and maintain accurate production documentation
  • Monitor raw material levels and maintain clean, organized work areas
  • Follow all safety protocols, wear required PPE, and maintain housekeeping standards
  • Support food safety compliance by ensuring sanitary conditions and reporting issues
  • Work assigned shifts, including overtime and after-hours meetings as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1–2 years of manufacturing, plastics, or packaging experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on concrete floors for extended periods
