Job description

Introduction
The Department of Corrections is focused on public safety through the custody and supervision of those in our care. The Division of Adult Institution is recruiting to fill a Medical Program Assistant Associate Limited Term Employment position. This position is based out of Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility (Milwaukee, WI).
Note: Candidates must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin in order to be considered.
Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Psychologist Supervisor, the Medical Program Assistant - Associate is responsible for providing program assistance to supervisory, professional, and administrative staff. This position responsibilities will include the maintenance of records of personnel and business transactions, assembling medical records, preparation and handling of incoming and outgoing correspondence using computers and word processing software, preparation of service utilization reports, typing, filing, telephone calls, and other duties as assigned.
Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range 02-11 with a salary of $25.04 per hour.

Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
Qualifications
Note: Candidates must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin in order to be considered.
Minimally qualified candidates will have experience:
  • Utilizing computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suites to create or manage data, reports, spreadsheets, memos, etc.
  • Providing administrative support (e.g. managing schedules, answering calls, scanning, and filing documents, etc.) and working with confidential or sensitive material.
  • Providing customer service, including answering questions and referring individuals to appropriate resources.
