Position Overview

Solaris Health System is actively seeking a full-time Mental Health Counselor who will provide critical support and therapeutic services to individuals navigating mental health challenges. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and developing personalized treatment plans that support clients in their recovery journey. Work Environment

This role is set to operate in a remote environment, allowing you the flexibility to provide care from the comfort of your home while maintaining a collaborative relationship with our outpatient office team. We embrace a supportive culture where mental health professionals can thrive, share insights, and work together in a fully equipped, outpatient-focused setting. Our work schedule is primarily Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, with some flexibility required based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments of clients, using standardized tools and your clinical expertise to develop tailored treatment plans that address individual needs.
• Utilize therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused approaches to facilitate client progress.
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation, adhering to HIPAA standards and organizational protocols.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and fellow mental health professionals to enhance the quality of care provided.
• Participate in regular case consultations and peer review meetings to share best practices and ensure a consistent approach to patient care.
• Provide education and support to clients and their families, helping them navigate mental health conditions and access relevant community resources.
• Stay current with advancements in mental health research to continuously improve therapeutic strategies and outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Mental Health Counselor will serve a diverse range of clients, including individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma-related issues, and other mental health concerns. Our focus is on supporting clients in building coping mechanisms and resilience, empowering them on their path to recovery. Your role will be pivotal in helping clients feel heard, understood, and supported as they navigate their mental health journeys.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• An active license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California.
• Strong understanding of solution-based psychotherapy techniques to tailor interventions that fit the unique needs of each client.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that foster trust and rapport with clients and their families.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills to navigate complex clinical scenarios.
• A collaborative spirit, emphasizing teamwork and mutual support within the treatment team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience using electronic health record systems for documenting patient care efficiently.
• Previous work in a similar outpatient setting, focusing on diverse client needs and therapeutic approaches.
• Familiarity with group therapy techniques and community outreach initiatives.
