AUDITOR / SENIOR ACCOUNTANT JOB SUMMARY

Ready to advance your public accounting career with a firm where you can become a key part of the team?

Snelling is recruiting an experienced Auditor / Senior Accountant for a well-established and highly respected Lubbock accounting firm offering $85,000-$105,000 annually, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility within a close-knit professional team.

This isn't a position where you'll simply be handed engagements and expected to disappear into the workload. Our client is looking for an experienced accounting professional who can take ownership of assignments, work directly with clients, contribute to the development of junior staff, and become an important part of the firm's continued success.

The team has developed a genuinely close working environment over the years - more like friends and family than simply coworkers - while maintaining the professional standards and client service expected from an established accounting practice.

If you have strong audit and accounting experience and are ready for more responsibility, visibility, and long-term career potential, we'd love to talk with you.

  • Work directly with clients to obtain documentation, resolve questions, and complete engagements efficiently
  • Research accounting and auditing issues as needed
  • Assist with the planning, scheduling, and completion of client engagements
  • Review work performed by less experienced accounting staff as assigned
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with established clients
  • Manage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines throughout the year
  • Travel to client locations for onsite audit and accounting engagements

AUDITOR / SENIOR ACCOUNTANT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Previous audit, assurance, or senior-level accounting experience
  • CPA strongly preferred; candidates actively working toward CPA licensure are encouraged to apply
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and audit procedures
  • Ability to analyze financial records and identify discrepancies or areas requiring additional review
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage deadlines and multiple client engagements
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong client service and relationship-building abilities
  • Proficiency with accounting, audit, and financial software
  • QuickBooks experience is beneficial
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30-40 nights annually outside of Lubbock
  • Additional regional client travel is required, with many locations allowing for same-day travel to and from LubbockAUDITOR / SENIOR ACCOUNTANT COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
