Senior Product Manager – Fulfillment Value-Added Services (VAS)About the Role:

ShipMonk is looking for a Senior Product Manager – Fulfillment Value-Added Services (VAS) to lead the charge in operational customization. While others just ship boxes, we craft experiences and enable global scale. In this role, you will own the roadmap for everything that makes a package "special"—from high-tech personalization like engraving and embroidery to high-stakes B2B requirements like UPC tagging and retail ticketing.

Your mission is to take a merchant's complex, multi-step project—whether it's a bespoke subscription box or a massive retail replenishment order—and translate it into seamless, system-driven transactions. You'll work at the intersection of e-commerce logic, retail compliance, and physical throughput, ensuring that custom becomes configurable and slow becomes scalable.

Desired Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • PM Core: 5+ years of experience in product management, specifically within logistics, manufacturing, or e-commerce tech.
  • Strong experience with creating process flow diagrams, swimlanes, or similar operational/logistics diagrams (e.g., Lucidchart, Miro, FigJam, Visio).
  • Domain Expertise: 2+ years of experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), kitting logic, or Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
Skills & Responsibilities:
  • Customer Research: Conduct interviews and engage with ShipMonk clients to understand inventory challenges and opportunities.
  • VAS Roadmap Ownership: Lead the product lifecycle for specialized fulfillment—turning "Special Projects" into standard, scalable offerings.
  • Implementation & Adoption: Collaborate with Go-to-Market teams to drive product launch, adoption, and customer onboarding.
  • Workflow Architecture: Design "Cart-to-Floor" flows that ensure a customer's request for a "blue ribbon, tagged, and engraved" item is instantly translated into a clear task for a warehouse associate.
  • Complexity Breakdown: Take messy, complex kitting projects and deconstruct them into system-driven, step-by-step digital transactions to minimize human error and maximize speed.
  • Personalization Tech Integration: Manage the software side of hardware—integrating engraving, embroidery, and custom labeling tech directly into our fulfillment stack.
  • Operational Engineering: Partner with Warehouse Ops to optimize "Special Project" stations, ensuring the physical layout matches the digital workflow you've built.
  • Scalability & Automation: Move the needle from manual, one-off projects to automated, repeatable processes that can scale across our entire global network.
  • Merchant Enablement: Build intuitive interfaces that allow merchants to configure their own "Value-Added" rules without needing a support ticket.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Use operational KPIs to identify bottlenecks in the kitting process. If a specific "tagging" step is slowing us down, you're the one who finds out why and fixes it.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as the glue between Sales (who sells the vision), Engineering (who builds the logic), and Operations (who does the work).
