Service Technician Responsibilities
- Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
- Documents repair orders with findings, results, and the correction to remain compliant with manufacturer guidelines
- Inspects vehicle for safety and maintenance needs such as worn brakes or tires.
- Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning
- Provides an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
- Reads Ford workshop manual and executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
- Provides typed data and supporting comments on how root cause of failure was found
- Clearly communicates findings and repairs to service staff
- Completes BG Services, fluid exchanges, alignments, and other related maintenance services
Service Technician Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Service Technician
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
- Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
- Ability to learn quickly and provide top-notch customer service
- Basic Computer Skills, can type with ease
- Great teammate and positive attitude, enjoys the automotive industry
- Clean and valid driver’s license
- Ensures that customer’s cars are kept clean
- Maintain stall in an orderly and clean manner
- Ability to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures and specifications
