Job Summary:
Seagate Technology is a global storage leader looking for a talented scientist to contribute to advanced research efforts in data security and secure computation. The Senior Research Engineer will evaluate new data privacy solutions, support research and product teams with security expertise, and conduct novel security research.
Responsibilities:
• Communicating with subject matter experts at all Seagate worldwide sites
• Evaluating new trends in cybersecurity and emerging algorithms and protocols
• Developing and analyzing new security technology
• Providing guidance for future Seagate products
• Publishing and presenting research papers at industry/academic conferences.
• Producing technical reports, filing patents, and presenting results.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Research/Publication record in cryptography, systems security, or a related field, especially with a focus on cryptography, provable security, formal verification, side-channel security confidential computation, or privacy-preserving machine learning.
• Experience designing, implementing, or analyzing cryptographic protocols.
• Programming experience (e.g., Rust, C/C++, Python)
• PhD or equivalent education and experience in the field of Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
Preferred:
• Familiarity with production development processes is a plus.
• Experience with and interest in the standardization process is a plus.
