Job description

Scopely is looking for a Director, Global Strategic Sourcing to join our Strategic Sourcing and Procurement team in Culver City on a hybrid basis.

At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play, every day - whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues, or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.

Strategic Sourcing and Procurement is a global function partnering with every corner of Scopely to unlock value, accelerate innovation, and ensure the technology and services that power our games and our business are sourced with rigor, speed, and integrity. As a shared service, we work with all of Scopely's talented studios and corporate teams.

Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, the Director, Global Strategic Sourcing will lead enterprise-wide sourcing across all spend categories, with a particular emphasis on technology and cloud. This is a highly visible leadership role that will manage a team of direct reports, partner closely with senior leaders across Engineering, InfoSec, Finance, Legal, and Marketing, and drive sourcing strategies that fuel Scopely's continued growth. The ideal candidate brings deep category expertise, world-class negotiation skills, and a track record of building and leading high-performing global sourcing teams in fast-paced, technology-driven environments.

What You Will Do

  • Lead global strategic sourcing initiatives for cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), enterprise-wide technology and business services, driving cost optimization, scalability, and supplier-led innovation
  • Develop and execute category strategies aligned with enterprise technology roadmaps, including cloud migration, SaaS rationalization, cybersecurity investments, and digital marketing transformation
  • Negotiate complex, high-value contracts with hyperscalers, SaaS providers, and strategic vendors, optimizing total cost of ownership, service levels, and commercial terms
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, InfoSec, Finance, Legal, and Marketing leadership to align sourcing strategies with business objectives, risk tolerance, and regulatory requirements
  • Implement supplier governance frameworks, including performance management, risk mitigation (cyber, data privacy, resiliency), and diversity initiatives across a global vendor portfolio
  • Build and lead a high-performing global sourcing team, driving best practices in spend analytics, demand management, contract lifecycle management, and digital procurement tools
  • Oversee sourcing execution across all non-technology categories (including marketing, professional services, facilities, and G&A) to ensure consistent rigor, savings delivery, and stakeholder satisfaction enterprise-wide
  • Partner with Finance to deliver measurable savings, drive budget alignment, and report sourcing performance against enterprise targets

What We're Looking For

  • A proven leader with the ability to work across functions, build strong collaborative relationships with business partners, and take initiatives from inception to completion
  • A builder's mindset with a proven track record of scaling sourcing organizations, processes, and digital procurement capabilities
  • Deep category expertise in cloud and enterprise technology sourcing, including hyperscaler (AWS, GCP, Azure) commercial constructs, enterprise SaaS, and cybersecurity
  • Experience & Qualifications: 10+ years of strategic sourcing or procurement experience, including significant leadership of technology and cloud categories
  • Demonstrated success negotiating complex, high-value contracts with hyperscalers, SaaS providers, and strategic vendors
  • Strong understanding of supplier risk management, including cybersecurity, data privacy, and operational resiliency
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams across multiple geographies and time zones
  • Experience with digital procurement and contract lifecycle management tools (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, Ironclad, Oracle)
  • The ability to effectively interact with senior leadership as well as external stakeholders, including C-suite executives at strategic suppliers
  • Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment with a high tolerance for ambiguity
  • Exceptional analytical abilities and strong MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Keynote skills
  • Experience in a roll-up-your-sleeves environment is a plus
